It was late October, 2017, when a charter bus full of tourists broke down on the high desert road through Little Antelope Pass, forty miles from the nearest gas station. Luna was the only ranger on duty that night. She drove out to check on them, expecting a simple rescue. But the passengers were not what they seemed — and the bus driver, a hollow-eyed woman named Cora, kept glancing at her watch. By midnight, the bus was gone, and the pass was empty. But the sound of that engine idling in the dark... Luna still hears it, sometimes, when the wind is right. This is a story about what waits at the edge of the map, and what happens when the road decides you are not getting out.
