In this passage, John explains the love of God. This is central to our faith and explains the nature of the God we serve. It is the purest most perfect form of love and as a believer it gives substance to our identity and power to our actions. Through this love we experience, as children of God, we are able to love others with that same love, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

We live in a spiritual world which is as real as our physical world. As Christians, because of our fallen nature, our hearts sometimes condemn us and fill us with guilt. However, God has promised to fill us with the Spirit, who reminds us that Christ has done everything to win us back to himself and offers us Justification and Sanctification which brings us true joy.
