In a country where dance music has boomed, DJs are viral on TikTok, DJs are mixing hard and fast, everyone is looking for a viral ID, DJing is a cultural phenomenon, the biggest festivals in Australia are dance music festivals, what is it actually like to be a DJ in 2026?

To help answer the question is FUKHED, an Eora based selector who has been cutting her teeth in dance music for nearly 10 years. Now foraying into producing, the techno aficionado sits down to talk the state of dance music in Australia and beyond, the external and internal pressures of being an artist in an extremely digital age and ways to break down the inherently competitive nature of Australia's dance music scene.

Nick Ward and FRIDAY* are two alternative solo artists from Sydney/Eora Australia. The duo come on Parry Talks to chat life as an alternative artist in 2026, fostering and building underground communities and the paths that led them to their creative partnership and collective, Full Circle.

SOLLYY is a rapper, producer and artist from Sydney.

He is a leader in his space, pioneering a new generation of music from Western Sydney in amongst his friendship group, Full Circle and other frequent collaborators.
