Why are we informed of the physical rewards that we will receive in this physical world? Should we not serve God without seeking any reward at all? The commandments should be fulfilled as if they are engraved in our very self therefore the reward is not only for our spiritual entity but for our physical being as well

What is the significance that it will not rain on Friday night? To impress upon us that we need to ensure that our physical endeavors and making a living should not impinge on our spiritual journey

Why do we list all of the commandments under those that are considered to be statutes? To impress upon us that all commandments must be fulfilled with Kabbalat ol and even though that is true it is still going to be in a man of Taleichu one should still be able to grow and serve Hashem with great energy as well

The verse seems to imply that as soon as the Jews came into Israel they were to mark the sabbatical year. When in fact it was only 7 years later? It is too impress upon us that as soon as they acquire the land they had to work towards the spiritual understanding that everything that they possess belongs to God. And this is true in our day and age as well and this is true in terms of raising a family. It all must be with the intent of causing and making a Sabbath for G-d

The uniqueness of this day

Why do we need to be told that we should work for 6 years and the 7th is the sabbatical. Isn't it obvious that we need to work? We are being told that to appreciate the sabbatical year during the first 6 years of work we need to realize that our successes come from God. And to benefit from the sabbatical year we need to take the spiritual energy and let it flow into the coming 6 years after the sabbatical

We compare the sabbatical year to the Sabbath. Even though on the Sabbath all work is prohibited be that as it may we can compare it to the sabbatical year where only working the earth is prohibited.

Why was the sabbatical year chosen as the example of the commandment given on Mount Sinai? Because this law only came into effect 21 years after the Jews had entered the land of Israel. It was the latest commandment that the Jews would have to fulfill. And we are therefore informed that even this law was given to the Jews at Mount Sinai
