In this episode we sit down with Adam Dennis, GM of the OHL's North Bay Battalion's who recently drafted Ty Nelson first overall. Dennis began his hockey career as a goalie and had a pretty unique career to say the least. He played for the iconic London Knight team that won the Memorial Cup led by Corey Perry. He was then drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round and finished his career in Europe. Tune in and hear about that legendary Memorial Cup and what it was like defeating Sidney Crosby in the finals, also find out how he's adapting into his new role as an OHL GM.

Part of the Game - EP01 - Carnegie and Me. Your hosts Britain Lovsin and Rane Carnegie talking everything hockey. They’ll be sharing their experiences from their new roles as coaches in the minor hockey world and their experiences from their days of playing. Rane Carnegie had a great minor and junior career from being captain of the Marlies, then getting drafted 18th overall to the then OHL Belleville Bulls. Rane went on to finishing his junior career in the QJMHL for the Halifax Moosehead where he later became the co-captain and a big part of the Moosehead organization to this day. Rane Carnegie wanted to follow in his grandfather’s Herbert Carnegie’s footsteps and had some pretty big shoes to fill. Herbert Carnegie was the greatest hockey player to never play in the NHL for the sole fact that he was black. Jean Béliveau, who had an amazing career with the Montreal Canadians and is regarded as a top 10 NHL player of all time is on record saying “Carnegie is one of the greatest hockey players I have ever played with” from the time they shared the ice together on the Quebec Aces. In 1938, Carnegie caught the eye of Toronto Maple Leafs owner Conn Smythe, who allegedly said that he would take Carnegie “tomorrow” if he could “turn him white.”
