Anthony Stokes is a screenwriter who discovered comic books through the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Inspired by the works of creators like Charlie Stickney, Pat Shand, and Clay Adams, Stokes was awakened to the possibilities of the power of comic book storytelling through their projects. Anthony went on to create his own comic book, Decay, and was able to successfully fund it via crowdsourcing. He is currently financing his second sequential narrative venture, Intrusive Thoughts, on Kickstarter. This week Kristian chats with Anthony about how he discovered comics could be the medium where he could focus his creative talents, his love of cinema (particularly comedy), and what different challenges comics and film present when crafting a story for either form of media.
