Casey Allen is a former musician who’d always loved comics. He’d stopped collecting for a while until he was working for a moving company which just happened to be a couple of blocks away from a comic shop. On a whim, he went into the shop and found his passion for comics re-ignited. After that he became involved with a website called The Comic Jam…which gathers creators of all kinds to create short-form comics just because they love making sequential art. Through that site he met Dan Price and together they started co-writing a book called Bigfoot Knows Karate…a slam bang comic book about a Sasquatch who walks the Earth, has adventures, and fights creatures with names like Kung Fu’thulhu! This week saw the debut of the latest chapter in the BKK saga on Kickstarter. It’s a one shot spinoff which finds the missing link in feudal Japan called Bigfoot Knows Karate: Hinagon! On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Casey about how he became the co-writer of Bigfoot Knows Karate and how he stepped forward to become main writer on this chapter of Bigfoot’s adventures!
