Rise is a new superhero comic book by writer Trevor Fernandes-Lenkiewicz (currently funding on Kickstarter) in which he explores the concept of what if a Superman-like superhero could only do good deeds…if he felt good? What would a superhero do if his powers only came to the forefront when he felt positive about himself? In Rise, Trevor explores issues of masculinity and what it means to be a man in today’s society. To many people, the superhero myth is a male power fantasy in which a physically imposing figure solves his problems through violence and intimidation but in Rise Fernandes-Lenkiewicz hopes to take a deeper look at that dynamic and pull it apart a bit.
