Kylar Merrell is a comic creator who has previously published several anthologies through his own publishing hub Foreign Press Comics. He recently decided to publish a one-shot comic book which he completely created on his own. The Song Survives (currently funding on Kickstarter) is the story of a bard who roams the wild west, singing his songs and spreading folklore via his musical verse. When he comes across a specific town, however, its inhabitants aren’t necessarily charmed by his melodious tones. On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Kylar about how the Dungeons and Dragons role playing game was a definitive factor in the creation of his comic and why he decided to write and illustrate a comic completely on his own.
