Episode 219 features Ron Parfitt from the DIY label Jean Scene in Pittsburgh. He started the label many years ago and has become a big part of the music scene. He primarily makes records and tapes for bands and he also has a 2 day indie music fest on October 13/14 featuring about 30 bands or so. On this episode I featured 2 bands from his label, one is called Split Silk and the song is called Ocean Heart. The other band is Morning Dew and the song is called D.R.E.A.M. Bonus episode this week with Eli Hunter from The Moongrove Music Festival in Mohnton, PA which is happening this weekend (July 21-23). This is his second spin on the show and I wanted to get him back on for a quick chat about this years fest. It’s a 3 day naturist fest featuring about 40 musical acts ranging from EDM, acoustic, bluegrass, reggae, and jam bands. Camping is available and tickets are still on sale, including at the door. Episode 213 features Gordon Anderson from the North Carolina punk band Oort Patrol. I will likely be focusing on the Raleigh/Durham area a bit this month and Oort Patrol is our first guest. They are also dropping a brand new EP July 12th and I featured two songs from it which have not been released yet, so if you are friends of fans of Gordon’s, you will hear them first on the this episode. I featured “Flying Saucer Working Party” and “Soylent Majority” which are loosely Sc-Fi themed and we talked a bit about them in the interview.
