The muscles in Pumping Iron make Cal sick

Bodybuilding in the 70’s was wild and Arnie was king. Pumping Iron (i.e. Arnie’s PR piece) takes us behind the Mr Universe and Mr Olympia scene where there’s pranks, dumb dumbs, and average joes going wild. It makes Cal queasy. Steroids also come up.

The docco is an hour and a half of Iron Mike’s monologue and it leaves you scratching your head. From juvie, to stardom, to women, to drugs, to prison, to fighting for pay cheques, Mike’s had the life that makes you think ‘what if?’

Free Solo’ing El Capitan? Not for us, thanks

F1, Imola, and Senna: The Sid Watkins Story

Our sports documentary for this week is ‘Senna,’ which looks at the life of F1 great and Brazilian star Ayrton Senna. It’s an emotional rollercoaster - especially in the lead-up to Imola in 2020 - but it’s also one of the best doccos we’ve ever watched. Respect to Senna, respect to F1, respect to Dr Sid, and we’re glad you’re dead Jean-Marie.
