Our favorite goddess is drowning in the cosmic voicemail hell of souls calling for help she can’t give, stuck in eternal limbo where “forever” feels more like a bad mixtape stuck on repeat. Spoiler alert: denial is not a river in Egypt, and Persephone’s spiraling meltdown hits harder than your last existential crisis at 3 AM.

Just when you think she’s about to hang up on all of existence, her squad swoops in with a flip phone (yes, a flip phone — because why not mix ancient mythology with retro tech?), and suddenly it’s a celestial group therapy session where everyone’s airing out their pain and rage like a podcast you can’t stop bingeing.

Persephone is low-key losing control of her own feminist ghost summit. Which, tbh, was always the risk of inviting a bunch of traumatized dead girls with opinions.

Well, this symposium seems to be going a little off track. Ophelia finally spills the tea (and some sacramental wine) about what really happened that day by the bough — spoiler: it wasn’t a fairytale and Hamlet can go straight to the River Styx. As the girls confront the politics of death, girlhood, and abortions, Persephone tries (and fails) to keep things professional. Everyone is still struggling to settle into this girlhood symposium from hell. Persephone tries to lead a “fun” introductions circle with the parthenoi who absolutely did not sign up for this. Despite the reluctance - we do end up learning some interesting info on these gals. Lavinia opens with Roman violence and contempt, Ophelia trauma-dumps with a smile, Mary flexes her divine maternal credentials while judging the snack situation, and Joan of Arc is just trying to explain pronouns between war flashbacks and toilet experiments. The vibe? Ancient wounds meets group project chaos, all moderated by a minor goddess with a glitter gel pen and not as much charisma as she thinks.

What do a virgin goddess, a French teen war hero, a drowned Shakespearean sad girl, a punk forgotten anti-heroine, and the literal the Mother of God have in common? They are all Parthenoi. The fate of all adolescent girldom ends up in the hands of five historical and fictional teenage girls - gathered in the afterlife to figure it out. 

This accidental dead girl think tank includes Persephone (teen goddess of the underworld), Joan of Arc, the Virgin Mary, and Shakespeare's Ophelia and Lavinia. They're focused on unraveling the mystery of the Parthenos: The Ancient Greek ghost of all teenage girls everywhere.
