The Jacks traveled to San Antonio this weekend for an SLC matchup in which we came away with an 18 pt victory at the end! Calvin, Charlie, David, Cam, Roti, and Nigel ALL had good games and we really spread the scoring out among the boys.

The next game is back in the Sawmill on Wednesday at 6:30 pm vs those dang Demons out of Northwestern across the border to the east. 

UCA came to town on a Wednesday night hoping to leave with a W but instead got gifted a big FAT L courtesy of Gavin's double-double, Cam's 21 pts, and Nana/ Nigel having the best night of their SFA career so far.  Good try UCA but it just wasn't in the cards this time or probably ever again. #LetsgetWACky news also dropped in between the game and our recording of the pod and let's just say we are moving on to bigger and better things in 2021. 

The Jack's play at UIW Saturday, Jan 16th, and back at home Wednesday, Jan 20th vs our over the border rival Northwestern. 

The Lumberjacks hosted a last-minute announced game vs Midwestern State University, a D2 school out of Wichita Falls, Texas on Friday, January 8th.  Jaclyn and I both couldn't make it because we decided to self-quarantine just in case and it turned out to be a good idea (you'll need to listen to hear why) but we watched on ESPN+ in the comfort of our homes listening to the Golden Voice of the Jacks--Rob Myers. It was an inconsistent game but we have seen some improvement in areas and yet not so much in others. Listen as we go over the good and bad,  along with stats, & more. 

The next game is at home on Wednesday, January 13th against Central Arkansas. 

The Jack's opened conference play Saturday, Jan. 2nd vs UNO.  It wasn't pretty but it wasn't horrible, just good enough to beat the 1-7 Privateers to put us at 4-2 on the season and in 2nd place behind ACU. The next game is on Jan. 13th at home in the Sawmill. #AxeEm 

The Jacks traveled to Monroe, Lousiana for a rematch vs the Warhawks to try to flip the script from our last trip to ULM BUT it didn't work out in our favor, unfortunately.  We are currently struggling offensively but trying to push through into the holiday break and end the year on a positive note.  SO READY FOR 2021 and conference play!!!!

The Jacks took a last-minute non-conference game in Waco to challenge themselves....and well... let's just say it was definitely a learning experience. 

This #2 Baylor team is LIGHTYEARS better than the #1 Duke squad we played last year and their defense KNEW EXACTLY what they needed to do to suffocate our offense.  Join Alex and Jacks as they go over the entire game and dive into both the good, bad, and the ugly on both the offense and defense sides of our struggling Lumberjack team.

Game recap from Sunday afternoon in the Sawmill----brutal first half and finally clicking a little better in the second half to get the W vs a really good NAIA team. Yes, we should have won that by 50, but we will chalk it up to fatigue, finals, and freaking 2020.  We also talk a little about all the WAC rumors and what a potential move to join that conference would mean. Good fit? Lateral move? Financially viable? Nothing is official yet but it is on the table and only time will tell. 

The next game (fingers crossed) is at ULM on Saturday the 12th. 

(Although there may be a sneaky game pop up on Wednesday vs a certain team from Waco.....not confirmed though) 

"Lose a game, gain a game" is probably going to be the slogan for the season. It has been thus far. The Jacks last-minute scheduled a "non"-conference game with McNeese (yes, we know they are in our conference but we weren't originally scheduled to play vs them during conference play so it's technically a non-con) on Friday night. They are coming off an absolute wild off-season filled with hurricane after hurricane pounding down on Lake Charles and they were FIRED UP. Thankfully that fire was tamed during the second half of the game and our Jacks came away with the DUB. Lots of work to do and more to learn but we think this team can absolutely go far into March.  This game was an uphill battle until the bitter end but what else is new for 2020. KNOCK IT OFF, WILL YOU? 

Next, the Jacks play ANOTHER last-minute scheduled game vs LSU-Alexandria at WRJ on Sunday, December 6th at 4 pm.  #AxeEm 

FINALLY! Basketball is back in the Sawmill. Socially distanced w/ masks and barely anyone there but it's back! 

 The home and season opener happened, one day early, BUT IT HAPPENED! That is worth celebrating so we decided to ask one of our favorite former Men's Basketball Managers, Mr. DEFENSE Grant Pedersen, to come on the podcast to chit-chat a bit about his time with the team & more.  We of course brought back some of your favorite segments: game stats for our friend Sean Kennedy, the Feats of Strength, and of course the Airing of Grievances.
