Listen Later

Peter Near is VMware Canada’s National Director of Technology, and a thought leader in Canada on topics including hybrid cloud strategies, data center modernization, and infrastructure security. As part of the Canadian Enterprise technology landscape for nearly twenty years, Peter has held a number of leadership positions including delivery of large enterprise transformation projects and leading global product management teams. Peter is passionate about leveraging the intersection of technology to drive business impact.

Casey Pruden made a decision early in his life to focus on the application of technology to better people’s lives through increased independence. He joined Community Living Toronto in 1991 working with children with Intellectual disabilities and then shortly after joined the IT team.  He is currently the Director of Information Technology at CLTO and is focused on supporting CLTO through a Digital Transformation and through a number of provincial initiatives to support a broader technical transformation within the Ontario Developmental Sector.

“One of our end goals is that we want people living as independently as possible. And the technology that we acquire and leverage takes us to a brand new level of what independence can look like.”

In this week’s episode of the #StartupCanadaPodcast sponsored by Mastercard,Peter and Casey share what began their partnership, how the pandemic accelerated their five-year plan to a five-week plan, and why they are a prime example of a value-aligned partnership.  This episode is powered by VMware.
