"The virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call him Emmanuel (which means, 'God with us')." "And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Thus the book of Matthew ends as it began: with Jesus and the promise of God with us. For Jesus is the son of the promise and the risen Lord who is with his people always. He is God with us to save the hopeless, God with us to heal the broken, God with us to bring his kingdom, and God with us to right all wrongs.

He was Lord of all and yet a servant, come to set his people free. From our many sins he saved us, born a child and yet a king. Jesus is God with us.
