In this episode, we're trying to play as many games as we can before our 2025 Game of the Year deliberations begin later in December. The Outer Worlds 2 may come up again but Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 definitely will not. We also talk some random retro game bullsh*t before looking ahead to 2026 and calling out some of our most anticipated games. Some of them even have release dates!

In this episode, Ghost of Yōtei and Pokémon Legends: Z-A face off in a very unfair battle. We also catch up on some of the biggest indie releases of the last month in Dispatch and Ball x Pit. Battlefield 6's single player campaign is certainly one of the shooter campaigns of all time. Halo is coming to PS5 and Xbox is so weird now. Plus, some Game of the Year chat, fantasy critic catch-up, November game releases to keep your eye on, and other video game stuff!

Consoles are too expensive! Xbox Game Pass is too expensive! Everything is too expensive! And yet, we still be gaming.

We're two-thirds through 2025 and it's been quite the year. Great video games, weird video games, weird and not so great state of the video game industry. The trend continues this month with Sword of the Sea, Is This Seat Taken, and Mafia: The Old Country. And we've got plenty more news and games where that came from!

Final Fantasy X-2 is not on the list.

Honorable Mentions (so that no one can be mad at us):

We're into August and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of summer slump going on. That is, besides the bummer of a time you experience when playing Destiny 2. We've also got conflicting thoughts on DK Bananza, a few new indies that are bringing the vibes, an update on our favorite gaming magazines, and rumors on how Sony is pivoting their publishing strategy to match Microsoft's "everything is an Xbox."
