Pass On The Pretty : Self Love and Confidence Through Mirror Work

Listen Later

In this episode of Pretty Intentional, we're diving into the power of self-love and how it shapes the way we treat others. I’ll be sharing my experience mentoring young girls and the impactful exercises we did to build confidence — from "Pass on the Pretty," where they gave non-physical compliments to one another, to "Mirror Mirror," a powerful self-affirmation exercise that moved many of them to tears.

We’ll talk about how societal pressures have historically challenged Black women’s confidence, and how while affirmation from others feels good, true confidence starts within. By embracing self-love and acceptance, we set the foundation for healthier relationships and a more empowered life.

If you've ever struggled to accept a compliment or found yourself projecting insecurities onto others, this episode is for you. Let's talk about how we can all start to pass on the pretty.
