Brian, Jesse, Zach, and Jack break down the NBA in its final week of the regular season, a great Women's NCAA Final Four, an average Men's NCAA Final Four, and the beginning of the MLB Season.

Key Takes from this Episode: The Mavs Are Done-čić as our title says, we shouldn't be messing with trash talkers in the women's basketball game, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is very improved, and the Phillies are 0-3.  What a week!

NFL News

Daniel Jones staying with the Giants for 4-years, $160 million - $82 million guaranteed, $35 million available for incentives

• Saquon gets the franchise tag at $10.1 million

Derek Carr to the Saints for 4-years, $150 million - $100 million guaranteed

• New favorites in the NFC South?
• Is Derek Carr better than: Geno / Goff / Stafford / Jones / Fields / Kyler ?
• Do the Raiders trade up for Stroud/Young or sit back for Richardson, Levis, etc.?

Who are the top 5 QBs in the NFC as of today?

No long term deal for Lamar Jackson, non-exclusive tag used.

• Whatever teams go after him must give up 2 first round picks along with signing him. Ravens likely banking on the idea that no team is willing to give Lamar a Deshaun Watson-like contract
• Who should pursue Lamar?
  • Panthers, Falcons, Commanders, Dolphins, Buccaneers all out - Raiders haven’t eliminated the possibility of Lamar (new report)
• Why is seemingly no one interested in Lamar Jackson?
  • Jack: As always, it’s all the Browns’ fault. No owner wants to commit to giving Lamar a Watson style contract because they don’t want fully guaranteed money to become the norm. If someone caves and gives it to Lamar, that hurts all of the other owners across the league. The Ravens are playing the waiting game and hoping nobody caves, and once that happens Lamar will have to settle for their deal.

DeAndre Hopkins will likely be traded during free agency (begins March 15th, 4pm

Jets and Packers are in trade talks for Aaron Rodgers, who apparently was thinking about retiring earlier this week. Jets meeting with Rodgers today

If the Jets get Rodgers, what is their record? Where do they fall in the division?

• Are they better or worse than Miami? New England seems like #4 in East
• Are they an instant playoff team?

Cowboys Tag Tony Pollard

• What are the chances Zeke is still a cowboy in 2023? Cowboys are currently over the cap and need to restructure to get under
• Cowboys let Dalton Schultz go, but TE is very strong in the draft

NBA

Knicks have a 9-game winning streak, currently the 5th seed

• Are the Knicks real contenders in the East?

Celtics choke in 3-straight games, blowing 28, 14, and 15 point leads

• Bucks are now the 1-seed in the East
• Any reason for major concern? Playoff concerns?
• Grant Williams missed 2 FTs to win the game after saying he’d make both
  • Was Lebron talking about G-Will when he said Bronny is better than some of these guys on league-pass?

Western Conference Standings

• Nuggets running away with the 1 seed, only team in West with 40+ wins
• With the Grizzlies in turmoil, who will end up with the two seed? (Kings? Suns?)
  • Grizz lost Clarke for the year, Adams likely back for playoffs
  • How long will Ja get suspended?
    • “The CBA says if there is a firearm on team premises [team plane], that’s an automatic 50-game suspension. That’s why the league is trying to ascertain where was the gun before the Instagram video.” -Marc Stein
    • Ja ALLEGEDLY checked into rehab for alcohol addiction
  • How long SHOULD Ja get suspended?
    • If Ja didn’t average 27ppg he would be off the team already
• Could the Warriors still make a run, even as a potential 5-6 seed?
  • JS: If they draw the Kings or Grizz in the first round, should be light work
• Which team is more legit, the Kings or the Cavs?
  • Jesse: Cavs by far. Kings are a lot of fun and score a lot of points, but defense wins championships. The kings also give up like 140 a night.
