Mark Ryall recently retired from teaching economics at Royal St. George's College (Toronto) and Hillfield Strathallan College (Hamilton) for a combined twenty-four years. His first love in high school coaching was always cross country running. Mark’s newly released speculative fiction Age-Decoded is his first novel. He wrote it to educate himself and the world about the imminent tsunami of CRISPR genetic engineering technology. The story peers 100-200 years into the future, allowing the reader to critically imagine and feel the effects of this incredible new scientific frontier. Mark represented Canada in the 2019 World Age-Group Triathlon Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland. He enjoys acrylic art, and currently serves as a volunteer cross country coach for Westdale Secondary School in Hamilton.

WILLIAM SKEA climber, cat rescuer #31 Passing Through with Ramon Mazinga

William has spent the last 6 years travelling solo around the world in his pursuit to become a rock, ski, ice, and mountain guide. He has climbed mountains and spent seasons in USA, Canada, Europe and New Zealand.  He is passionate about mentoring others, providing life-changing experiences through the outdoors, and motivating others to become more confident in themselves.  His highlighted ascents include free climbing Freerider on Elcap over 6 days (grade 29 or 5.13a, 880 meters, 35 pitches), aid climbing The Shield over 8 days (grade A3+, 33 pitches, 900 meters), a 30-day expedition in the Bugaboos in the Canadian Rockies, and a 4-month bike tour across Europe after falling victim to an avalanche and being unable to climb for a year.  Now he is studying to get a degree in Nursing. Meanwhile, he has created a cat rescue charity called 'William Skea's Animal Rescues' that focuses on rescuing cats found to be victims of animal cruelty, be it hoarding, pet abandonment, illegal breeding, baiting, or animal harm. To raise money for his charity, he takes people rock climbing, ice climbing, ski touring, and mountaineering, with 100% of his income being donated towards his charity. He is keen to share how there is a desperate need for support in caring for rescued cats found to be victims of animal cruelty around Sydney, most importantly to foster, care, and re-home a growing number of abandoned street cats.

With Mirko, we talk about pasta making, acting, and connection with nature. Mirko was born in Bologna, Italy. His very first approach to entertainment was at 16, when he followed a fashion career for a while modeling between, Milan, Florence and London, for some strong Italian labels. In 1992, after over a year in London, he moved to Australia. Modelling was of no interest anymore and his work in hospitality was moving towards entertainment, with many appearances on TV and cooking stages around Australia by the early 2000. In 2001, he decided to commit to a professional presenting course so he could improve his accent, speech and theatrical abilities. He fell in love with acting. still pursuing his culinary abilities, he made a slow transition into the world of film and TV and in 2009 he had is first role on a large scale production: Narnia, The Voyage of the Dawn Trader, followed by lead roles in Feature Films, guest roles in US and Australian series and a seriously Bad Guy in the multi award winning series Wanted. In 2015, he wrote, directed and co-produced the multi award winning film ReFraction, concreting his writing skills with 2 awards.
