Passion led us here… Most people are marked with passion in their emotions as children. I read somewhere,  that Dr Norman Vincent Peale was walking by a tattoo shop when a confused looking young man came out of the shop with a tattoo in his right arm that read “Born to Lose”. Dr Peale asked the tattoo artist about it and the tattoo artist replied…. “ I did ask the young man if he was sure that he wanted to state “Born to lose” in his arm and the young man was pretty stubborn in that. A surprised Dr Peale asked the tattoo artist – “Isn't that surprising?” For which the artiste replied “Not really! Much before he tattooed it on his arm, he has firmly tattooed it in his brain, and his body tattoo act is just a reflection of his mind tattoo”.    Some people, (like Jabez or this young man that did the horrible tatoo), carry emotional marks of defeat that cannot be seen by human eyes but that are visible in the Spirit.

Returning to the Father’s house - The Prodigal son

This is a story of a son’s repentance and a father’s great love and forgiveness. And He said, a certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, “Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. The Bible does not tell us why this young man chose to ask for his share, or portion, of the inheritance he would receive when his father died. How to Have Your Own Personal Pentecost. What is Your Spiritual Temperature? Be the thermostat, not the thermometer.

The words thermometer and thermostat sound awfully similar but there is a huge difference. A thermometer is like a mirror, it reflects the temperature of its environment. You’ll notice that the language of a thermometer is always influenced by what is going on around it. So when the temperature of a room is hot, the reading is high- if the temperature of the room drops, the reading drops too! Thermometers are in a constant state of change, meaning they can be both “up” and “down” within minutes.

A thermostat, on the other hand, is used to regulate its environment. You may think you’ve never seen one before but that temperature control on your wall at home is exactly that! This modern word is based on two ancient Greek terms: thermo (meaning heat) and statos (which is related to words like statis and static meaning to stay the same). Which perfectly explains the role of a thermostat – to maintain a desired temperature

We should all wash our hands, and in our Church building, we are providing Purell and anti-septic wipes to everyone. But we must also make sure to not surrender to the downward spiral of fear and choose instead to act with faith. We need to be aware and conscious and also retain our souls and spiritual well-being. People should seek the forgiveness of their sins as much as they purify their hands with water, soap and Purell

God is perfect and pure. We are called to be perfect as God in heaven is perfect. We need to be cleansed from our sins. We need “spiritual Purell” for our soul!

Isaiah 1:18 Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
