The sons of God are disciplined by the Father.

Psa 50:16 But to the wicked God says,

"What right have you to tell of My statutes,

And to take My covenant in your mouth?

Psa 50:17 "For you hate discipline,

And you cast My words behind you.

Discipline is not just for the sake of getting the Christian to do something, to do his duty unto God for the only reason that God demands it.

Other religions have this as their highest motivation - reward and punishment, which can in fact greatly motivate a man, but this is not what God is.

The sons of God do the will of their Father.

The authority and position of Jesus as the Messiah, as the Son of God, was manifested by His works. Jesus said that John the Baptists position and calling were manifested by John's own works. Jesus said that we manifest the glory of the Father, and therefore our own position by our works.

Just as the priests and elders spent their lives in professing to be God's people, but did not do the work that their position required as priests and elders, so was the second son in the parable who said he would go and work in the vineyard but did not.

The sons of God do the will of their Father.

We noted in the parable of the two sons that Christ manifested His authority and Person through the works that He did, and He said that John the Baptist did the same.

Christ, being our first fruits and we being called to conform to His image, must do the same. We are to do the works that the Father has willed for us to do, and by their manifestation, witness of the power and authority of God.

Christ is the first fruits and all believers are His harvest.

Jesus Christ represents us and so we are to be like Him. He presented Himself to God as righteous and perfectly suited for heaven, and because He also paid our debt, propitiating the Father for us, justifying us, the body of Christ, believers in Christ, have truly become His crop.

Christ is the first fruits and all believers are His harvest.

The concept of firstfruits derives from God's creation work. Because God created everything that exists, all of creation belongs to him, Psa 24:1. Consequently, that which is first and best belongs to him and is to be given to him.

Having the truth, we have nothing to hide. We are of the day, not the night.

Having the truth within, we have nothing to hide. The water of the word washes us.

With the truth in us, we do not have to conceal anything. If we are harboring unrighteousness in our hearts, the secret compartments of the night, then we do have something to hide and we have not allowed the truth to do its work.

We are currently looking into the parable of the wheat and the tares. Jesus told us that the wheat, who are the sons of the kingdom, and the tares, who are unbelievers, will grow together until the end.

Mat 13:24 He presented another parable to them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.

We are currently looking into the parable of the wheat and the tares. Jesus told us that the wheat, who are the sons of the kingdom, and the tares, who are unbelievers, will grow together until the end.

He also told us that Satan sowed his seed in the field, which is the world, and he did so at night while the slaves slept.

This leads us to the revelation in the Bible that the sons of the kingdom are sons of light. We are of the day, not the night.

The night is the time when the clamoring of man's daily workings cool and quiet down. It is the time of quiet, hidden, or low-toned sins.

Can man create his own Brave New World?

Will God give man a new world on man's terms and in this current world?

Western man has often times imagined that he lives in a new world. He seems to revel in this, that things in his time are new, desirable, and unprecedentedly exciting. It is a new dawn and it's good to be alive. He is in an age of enlightenment.

Yet, the one perfect Man in this world saw man exactly for who he was.
