Archived message from 6/21/2015. Great message and perspective. Worth a second listen. Definitely exposes some faulty logic in us and others.

Our speech must be beyond reproach. If it is not, this message will help you understand why it needs to be. We cannot pretend to be believers and our words be less than godly.

Of all the things to be confident about in our life, most of them come from an earthly perspective. Many things such as our lineage, heritage, and ancestry, are things we had nothing to do with but to be born. Yet, we use these things as ways to determine our value. This message will let you know those ways don’t work with Jesus. #ChurchUp

God knows what he wants for your life. He has intended purpose for the things you go through, and patience will help you get there. Five of the six perspectives on patience which help us endure are covered here. We have good intentions, but God has God intentions. #ChurchUp

Too often we put other things ahead of our relationship with Jesus. If we do so, this is called idolatry. Jesus is preeminent in your life, or he is not. This sermon shares some of the ways we can be challenged to grow.

Teacher Appreciation Sunday found this message encouraging all of us to continue to invest in the people around us. It concludes with a very personal story. You may have never heard this story about me, but it’s worth hearing. If you listen, please share it and spread the good word. #ChurchUp

I went way outside of my comfort zone to preach this message. I heard it was a hellfire and brimstone type of sermon. I don’t think I’ve ever done that before. All I know is Jesus Christ must be the center of life or we are delusional thinking we are Christian. Many ‘Christians’ sure don’t act like or even know what it means to be one. If you think I am talking about other people, you are incorrect. I am talking about myself. I spoke this sermon to myself as I was “devastated” by the truth God was showing me about me. This passage from the book of James really challenged me to take a good, long, hard look at myself.
If you believe you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then listen to this message and consider what is said. The response to it was overwhelming. I believe it will be for you, too.
