Matthew 6:25
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought … - The general design of this paragraph, which closes the chapter, is to warn his disciples against avarice, and, at the same time, against anxiety about the supply of their needs. This he does by four arguments or considerations, expressing by unequalled beauty and force the duty of depending for the things which we need on the providence of God.

Phil 2:12
it is a duty because it is our own personal interest that is at stake. No one else has, or can have, as much interest in our salvation as we have.

Exodus 14:13
See the salvation of the Lord - Behold the deliverance which God will work, independently of all human help and means.

Exodus 14:13
See the salvation of the Lord - Behold the deliverance which God will work, independently of all human help and means.

Matthew 7:24
Build your foundation on a rock, your Heavenly Father. Just like a rock, our Father is solid and never leaves us or forsakes us.

There are here three different forms presented of seeking the things which we need from God - asking, ‹seeking, and knocking. The latter is taken from the act of knocking at a door for admittance. The phrases signify to seek with earnestness, diligence, and perseverance. The promise is, that what we seek shall be given us. It is of course implied that we seek with a proper spirit, with humility, sincerity, and perseverance.

Luke 12:21
“So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed … - The word rendered “conformed” properly means to put on the form, fashion, or appearance of another. It may refer to anything pertaining to the habit, manner, dress, style of living, etc., of others.
