Pastorally Correct

In this week's episode, we build on last's. To be successful in God's eyes means to respond appropriately to what He has revealed (to walk in the fear of the LORD), striving to bring glory to Him by using your gifting to fulfil the calling He has placed on your life. In today's episode, we consider three additional, practical steps you can take as a follower of Jesus Christ. This is part II of III.

Maybe you're a recent or soon-to-be graduate. Maybe you're starting a new job or moving to a new community. Maybe you're just someone who wants to experience more success in the next season of life than you are in this one. If you fit any of those categories, this episode is for you. There are principles to taking hold of God's path of success for your life that begin with identifying what God views as "success" and then walking accordingly. Over three episodes, we are going to explore a few practical steps we can take to walk the abundant path that God desires for His children. No, this isn't a prosperity gospel teaching. This is about understanding how to better glorify Jesus Christ with our lives.

In the spring months, we cultivate the ground in anticipation of a harvest. The work we do produces fruit... but not instant fruit. As in agriculture, the believer must learn to be patient but diligent in our preparation of our souls for the harvest God will produce.

The question could be, "What does it mean to you?" Do Christians know or care about the persecution of religious minorities in China, India, and in other nations around the world? How should we respond to these gross human rights violations? In today's episode, we discuss these prompts while urging you to pray for the release of Pastor David Lin from imprisonment in China.

I hope this encourages you in the faith.
