We're starting a new series today all about the Holy Spirit. We begin discussing Pentecost (the day the Holy Spirit was poured out on all the believers), which is also the birthday of the Church. As the weeks go on, we'll cover one fruit of the Spirit each week. Should be a great discussion and very practical!

Today we start by talking about the value of memorizing Scripture. Eric's been doing this for years, committing the passage he's preaching on that week to memory. I've also loved "hiding God's word in my heart" since the Navigators taught me The Topical Memory System in college. Then we dive into the final resurrection appearance of Jesus: the Ascension. Next week we'll get practical as we talk about the Holy Spirit in our lives and the gifts of love, joy, peace, patience...
