Even from an early age, Pat believed she was adopted. She KNEW it and begged her parents to tell her the truth. Adoption was indeed part of their family's story, but not how she thought. When Karen was eight years old she found out she was adopted. It turns out Karen's birth mom made the heartbreaking decision to place her for adoption.
