We have a very disappointing news story for Christmas Eve this year. The "Stop Enabling Sex Trafficking Act" that looked so promising just a few weeks ago has been ... gutted. Today, girls can be sold on web sites illegally, and they have no protection and no recourse against the sites that sell them. This is NOT what I hoped to have for our Christmas Eve program.

Our program today is about some of what the airline industry is doing to combat human trafficking by training their employees as well as travelers how to recognize the signs of someone being trafficked.

Today we get to share this month's news letter from PATH which we haven't talked about before. We also help listeners know how to go to PATH's web site to sign up to receive the newsletter themselves, something we haven't talked about before either.

OK, I get to have a little rant today! It's about the horrible fact that our state of Arkansas is still one of 27 states that do NOT have a way to take care of minor children that are the victims of human trafficking. Pray for PATH as they try to take this on with our state legislature to come up with a law, and a way, to have a recognized and state funded facility to help these desperate child victims.

I also share a brief news story out of Oklahoma where one of their state legislators was sentenced to prison for trafficking of minors ... himself.

This Thanksgiving weekend we get to share a news story where a man in Colorado was sentenced last week to 472 years in prison for trafficking minor girls and women as well. This is the largest sentencing in American history for human trafficking!

We also share an interview with a young lady that started being raped by her father as a 12 year old, then was taken into trafficking at the age of 15. Her story is one of remarkable strength to come back from that to now having a productive and meaningful life of helping others.

Today we finish up our interview with Mr Glenn Ballard of PATH. Glenn shares some of the dreams going on at PATH as well as some legal issues facing our state of Arkansas dealing with minor children that have been trafficked.

News story is about the drama in Washington where congress is wrangling over SESTA. (Stop Enabling Sex Trafficking Act) The bill finally got out of committee last week after some amendments, only to now be put on hold by a Senator as of last Friday! We will keep us posted!

We then get to have Mr Glenn Ballard of PATH share about the Victims Services Training as well as the Day Training that is available for ladies coming out of the sex slave industry.

This week we have a news update about the effectiveness of the National Human Trafficking Hotline. It has had over a ten fold increase in it's use over the past nine years. The word is getting out!

We also continue with our interview with Glenn Ballard and this week Glenn talks about the impact of trauma on the victims of Human Trafficking.

Today we get to interview Mr. Glenn Ballard who works with Louise Allison and PATH. We find out some of the services Glenn provides for PATH and some of the powerful ministries that PATH provides to the survivors of Human Trafficking. We will also get to hear from Glenn for the next couple of weeks as well!

Our news story today is about the latest nation wide FBI human trafficking sting called "Operation Cross Country." During this nation wide sting there were 84 children rescued out of human trafficking. The average age of those rescued was just 15 years of age. The youngest was a 3 year old girl. That young age has rightfully shocked many, therefore we get to share at the end of the program the part of an interview I had about a year ago with Debra where she shared that her story of abuse started as a 3 year old girl.
