Pathfinder Church Messages episodes

March 08, 2015 Presence not Performance
Church can (and should) be entertaining; there’s nothing wrong with that. But how often do we come to church to take in the show and forget to engage God himself, who is present when we gather? God wants us to experience closeness with him as friends...

March 01, 2015 Comfort not Condemnation
Too often we want to be told what we, or especially other people, are doing wrong. We expect God to be our cosmic drill sergeant who will whip us into shape. But God doesn’t want to condemn us; he wants to comfort us with the reassurance of his...

February 25, 2015 When You Know Who’s Really in Your Corner
Sometimes we know we’re right but we’re still standing alone, as far as people go. But when God is in your corner, it gives you the ability to ask for help in bold ways.

February 22, 2015 Abundance not Subsistence
Jesus taught us to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread” so contentment is clearly a good and Godly thing. But sometimes we imagine that God wants to give us “crumbs” when he really wants to give us abundance. Unfortunately we end up with what we...

February 15, 2015 When It Comes to God, Do We Actually Have a Choice?
We all know people who do bad things, but in the Bible there are people who do bad things because God seemingly forces their hand. Pharaoh, Judas, and Pilate all were given “dirty jobs” to do and even suffered consequences for them; but did they ever...

February 08, 2015 Why Do Christians Create Divisions Where God Does Not?
Christians teach that faith in Jesus is required to live forever in “Heaven.” And Heaven is also supposed to be a paradise where all of our mourning, sadness, sickness, pain and death are taken away. If that’s the case, then what can God do about the...

February 01, 2015 Can Heaven Be Good If the People We Love Most Aren't With Us?
Sunday is still the most segregated day of the week. Christians divide themselves up by denomination, race and class. And even though women have gained status in broader culture, Christians seem to be lagging behind in showing equal value to women...

January 25, 2015 How Can God Take Issue with Two People Who Love Each Other?
It seems grossly unfair that God would create someone to love someone else and then condemn them for acting on it. Not only that, but there is a list of a whole bunch of other “sins” that Christians still talk about as bad that just seem out of touch...
