Monday: Jesus Cleanses the Temple.

Today at Pathway we celebrated Palm Sunday. Pastor Sam and Pastor Brooks preached on how Lazarus’ resurrection proves Jesus’ power is real, but His presence with Martha and Mary show He’s the true King who cares. We learned that Jesus is in the mix with us, Jesus hates sin because of the pain & death it causes, and that sin and death do NOT have the last word.

Who is Jesus and what does it mean to follow Him? During the 60s AD, Christians in Rome living in the shadow of intense persecution wrestled with these questions. Recalling the stories of his friend, Simon Peter, Mark attempts to help them find answers in his Gospel.

He give us “Jesus, Messiah, the Son of God,” and yet, he tells of a very human figure saddened by the brokenness of our world, filled with rage against oppression, and ultimately move by compassion to act on our behalf. Jesus’ life and death are our salvation and for those who would believe, He says, “Follow Me.”

Brooks is a driven and passionate minister who has a vision to see people grow spiritually and become active participants in the Body of Christ. She believes that we are not only called to love Jesus but to also love His Church.
She is an ordained minister with the PFWB with nearly 20 years ministry experience that includes evangelism, discipleship, mission work, etc. Brooks has also served as the Girls Ministry director of the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist denomination, preach in numerous churches throughout Eastern North Carolina, and been the key note speaker at several women’s and leadership events. In 2016 she returned “home” to Pathway Church when her husband, Sam, was offered the pastorate there, and in 2018 she was asked to serve alongside him as an associate pastor. She and Sam are blessed to serve the people of Pathway and raise their kids, Kross and Brantley, in such a vibrant and loving community of believers.

Jennifer Kostyal is the founder of Transformed By The Word Ministries, a national prison ministry for female inmates, as well as the founder of The House of Hope, a Christian led placement program. Jennifer is a national best-selling author of Finally Free, Taking Off The Robes, Finally Free Bible Study, and her latest release, Courageous Prayers for Women which contains the prayers she prayed to be healed of sexual abuse and breast cancer.

Jennifer was the Pastor to death row female inmates in North Carolina for two years. Her passion is to minister to those who are imprisoned behind either physical or spiritual walls. Jennifer is a dynamic speaker, teacher, and author that travels across the nation speaking in churches and to female inmates on how to be free from the past and walk in your God-given identity and destiny. She is a spiritual mother to hundreds of spiritual children who call her “Momma J.”

Jennifer and her husband, Dave, whom she affectionately calls her, “Big Daddy”, make their home in Wilmington, North Carolina.  She always says, “Dave is the best present Jesus has ever given her and she is so grateful for him as he was such a loving caregiver as she walked through breast cancer twice in the last four years. Jennifer has been completely healed of breast cancer and truly gives God the glory for all His abundant blessings in her life!

Pastor Miriam Phillips is a dynamic speaker and teacher who delivers the Word of God in a practical way. She and her husband Chris pastor River of Life Church in Jacksonville, NC, a multi-cultural, non-denominational and charismatic church that is impacting that area mightily.

Having grown up on the mission field, Pastor Miriam has a passion for the nations and has traveled all over the world teaching and preaching the Gospel. As head of the Fearless Warrior Princess Women’s Ministry and the Prophetic Ministry at River of Life, Pastor Miriam also has a desire to see women rise up and fulfill the purpose God has for them.

Pastor Miriam enjoys Kentucky basketball, coffee, chocolate, traveling and spending time with her six grown children, Torre and Elise, Evan and Brit, Maurice and Erianna and her beautiful grandsons, Rio, Arthur and Weston.

This week at Pathway, Pastor Sam and Pastor Brooks finish the sermon series on Married with Children. Throughout this series, we have explored the biblical principles for a better marriage: communication, care, vigilance, forgiveness, romance, and conflict.
