Jesus was moved with compassion to help others. When given the opportunity to help someone do we jump at the chance to do it? Or do we find reasons not to?
A trial is not the same thing as a temptation. Both temptations and trials are difficult, but a temptation is brought on by either Satan or our sinful hearts, while a trial is allowed by God in order to refine us and to make us more like Jesus. Many people don't realize that some of the problems they’re facing today are the direct result of Apathy. People just don’t care about much anymore, unless and until it directly affects their comfort zone. Apathy causes depression, stifles our creativity, stunts our spiritual growth, and drains our energy.
No one who was alive in 1980 can forget the eruption of Mount St Helens. But many have forgotten Harry R. Truman, the man who failed to head all the warning signs that had occurred over a period of many months.
