Samantala, pumunta si Jesus sa Bundok ng mga Olibo. Nang magmadaling-araw, nagpunta uli siya sa templo. Pumunta sa kanya ang lahat ng tao, kaya naupo siya at nagturo sa kanila. Dinala sa kanya ng mga tagapagturo ng Kautusan at ng mga Fariseo ang isang babaing nahuli sa pakikiapid, at pinatayo ito sa harapan nila. Sinabi nila sa kanya, “Guro, ang babaing ito ay nahuli habang nakikiapid. Ngayon, inutos ng batas ni Moises na batuhin ang tulad niya. Ano ngayon ang masasabi mo?” Sinabi nila ito para subukin siya, upang sa gayon, mayroon silang gamitin laban sa kanya. Yumuko si Jesus at nagsulat sa lupa sa pamamagitan ng kanyang daliri. At habang nagpapatuloy sila sa pagtatanong sa kanya, tumayo siya at sinabi sa kanila, “Sinuman sa inyo na walang kasalanan, siyang unang bumato sa kanya.” At muli siyang yumuko at nagsulat sa lupa sa pamamagitan ng kanyang daliri. Matapos nilang marinig ito, isa-isa silang nagsialis, simula sa pinakamatanda. Naiwang mag-isa si Jesus kasama ang babaing nakatayo sa harap niya. Tumingala si Jesus at sinabi sa kanya, “Ginang, nasaan sila? Wala bang humusga sa iyo?” At sinabi ng babae, “Wala, Ginoo.” At sinabi ni Jesus, “Hindi rin kita huhusgahan; humayo ka, at huwag nang magkasala.”

On hearing these words, some in the crowd said, “This must truly be the Prophet.” Others thought, “This is the Christ.” But still others retorted, “How can the Christ come from Galilee? Does not Scripture assert that the Christ will be of the seed of David and come from Bethlehem, the city where David lived?” As a result, the crowd was sharply divided because of him. Some of them even wanted to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him.

Then the temple guards went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees, who asked them, “Why did you not arrest him?” The guards answered, “No one has ever spoken as this man has.” Then the Pharisees said, “Have you also been deceived? Has any one of the authorities or of the Pharisees come to believe in him? As for this crowd, they do not know the Law—they are cursed.”

One of them, Nicodemus, who had previously come to Jesus, said to them, “Does our Law allow us to pass judgment on someone without first giving him a hearing to ascertain what he is doing?” They replied, “Are you too a Galilean? Look it up, and you will find that no prophet is to arise from Galilee.”

Ngunit sumagot naman ang iba pa, “Maaari bang magmula sa Galilea ang Mesias? Hindi ba sinabi ng Kasulatan na magmumula ang Mesias sa lipi ni David, at sa Betlehem na bayan ni David ipanganganak?” Magkakaiba ang palagay ng mga tao tungkol sa kanya. After this, Jesus resumed his travels throughout Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill him.

However, when the Jewish feast of Tabernacles was drawing near, his brethren said to him, “Depart from here and go into Judea so that your disciples can perceive the works you are doing. "

Later, however, after his brethren had gone up to the feast, he himself also went, not publicly, but in secret.

Then some of the inhabitants of Jerusalem said, “Is this not the man they are trying to kill? And yet he is speaking publicly, and they say nothing to him! Can it be that the authorities realize that he is the Christ? And yet we know where this man is from. But when the Christ appears, no one will know where he is from.”

Then Jesus cried out as he was teaching in the temple,

“You know me,
and you also know where I am from.
Yet I have not come of my own accord,
but he who sent me is true.
You do not know him,
but I know him
because I am from him
and it was he who sent me.”

So they tried to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him because his hour had not yet come.

Nalalapit na ang Pista ng mga Tolda, isang pista ng mga Judio. Pagkaalis ng kanyang mga kapatid, si Hesus ma’y pumunta rin sa pista, ngunit hindi hayagan. Sinabi ng ilang taga-Jerusalem, “Hindi ba ito ang taong gusto nilang patayin? Hayan! Lantaran siyang nagsasalita, ngunit wala silang sinasabi laban sa kanya! Baka naman kilala ng mga pinuno na siya nga ang Mesiyas! Walang makaaalam kung saan magmumula ang Mesiyas pagparito niya, ngunit alam naman natin kung saan nagmula ang taong ito!”Kaya’t nang nasa templo si Hesus at nagtuturo, malakas niyang sinabi, “Ako ba’y nakikilala ninyo? “If I were to testify about myself,
my testimony would not be true.
However, there is another who testifies about me,
and I know that his testimony is true,
the testimony he bore concerning me.
You sent messengers to John,
and he has testified to the truth.
Not that I accept such human testimony,
but I say these things
so that you may be saved.
“John was a burning and shining lamp,
and for a time you were willing
to exult in his light.
But I have testimony that is greater than John’s.
The works that my Father
has given me to accomplish,
the very works that I am doing,
testify about me,
that the Father has sent me.
“And the Father who sent me
has himself testified about me.
You have not heard his voice
or seen his form,
and you do not have his word
abiding in you,
because you do not believe
him whom he has sent.

“Search the Scriptures carefully
because you believe that through them
you will gain eternal life.
Even they testify on my behalf.
Yet you refuse to come to me
to receive that life.

“I do not accept the praise of men.
Moreover, I know that you do not have
the love of God in your hearts.
I have come in the name of my Father,
yet you do not accept me.
But if another should come in his own name,
you will accept him.
How can you believe
when you accept praise from one another,
yet you do not seek
the praise that comes from
the only God?
“Do not think that I will accuse you
before the Father.
You have placed your hope in Moses,
and he is the one who will accuse you.
If you truly believed Moses,
you would have believed in me,
for it is about me that he wrote.
But since you do not believe what he wrote,
how will you believe what I say?”

“Kung ako lamang ang nagpapatotoo para sa aking sarili, ang aking patotoo ay hindi kapani-paniwala. May iba pang nagpapatotoo tungkol sa akin, at alam kong ang patotoo niya ay kapani-paniwala. Kayo mismo ang nagpadala kay Juan ng mga sugo, at ang sinabi niya ay totoo. Hindi sa kailangan ko ng patotoo ng tao, kundi sinasabi ko ang mga ito upang kayo ay maligtas. Si Juan ay ilawang nagliliyab at nagliliwanag, at ginusto ninyong masiyahan kahit sandali sa kanyang liwanag. Ngunit ako mismo ay may patotoo na higit kaysa patotoo ni Juan, sapagkat ang mga gawaing ibinigay sa akin ng Ama upang gampanan, na siya namang ginagawa ko, ay nagpapatunay na ako ay sinugo ng Ama. Ang Ama na nagsugo sa akin ay siya ring nagpatotoo tungkol sa akin. However, Jesus responded to them, saying,

“My Father is still working,
and I am at work as well.”

For this reason, the Jews became even more determined to kill him, because he was not only breaking the Sabbath but also calling God his own Father, making himself equal to God.

Jesus replied to them, saying,

“Amen, amen, I say to you,
the Son can do nothing by himself;
he can do only what he sees the Father doing.
For whatever the Father does,
the Son also does.
For the Father loves the Son
and shows him everything
that he himself is doing.
And he will show him
even greater works than these,
so that you might be astonished.

“Indeed, just as the Father raises the dead
and gives them life,
so does the Son give life
to anyone he chooses.
The Father judges no one,
for he has entrusted all judgment to the Son,
so that all may honor the Son
as they honor the Father.
Anyone who does not honor the Son
does not honor the Father who sent him.
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever hears my words
and believes in the one who sent me
possesses eternal life.
He will not come to judgment
but has passed from death to life.

the hour is coming,

MIYERKULES, ABRIL 2, 2025 Miyerkules sa Ikaapat na Linggo ng Apatnapung Araw na Paghahanda para sa Pasko ng Pagkabuhay MABUTING BALITA: JUAN 5: 17 - 30 Noong panahong iyon, sinabi ni Hesus sa mga Judio: “Ang aking Ama’y patuloy sa paggawa, at gayun din ako.” Lalong pinagsikapan ng mga Judio na patayin siya, sapagkat nilabag na niya ang batas tungkol sa Araw ng Pamamahinga ay sinasabi pa niyang ang Diyos ang kanyang Ama, at sa gayo’y ipinapantay ang sarili sa Diyos.Kaya’t sinabi sa kanila ni Hesus, “Dapat ninyong malaman na walang ginagawa ang Anak sa kanyang sarili lamang; ang ginagawa lamang niya’y ang nakikita niyang ginagawa ng Ama. Ang ginagawa ng Ama ay siya ring ginagawa ng Anak. Sapagkat minamahal ng Ama ang Anak, at ipinakikita sa Anak ang lahat ng ginagawa niya. At higit pa sa mga ito ang mga gawang ipakikita sa kanya ng Ama at manggigilalas kayo. TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2025Tuesday of Fourth Sunday of Lent GOSPEL OF THE DAY: JOHN 5 : 1-16Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish feasts. Now in Jerusalem, by the Sheep Gate, there is a pool that in Hebrew is called Bethesda. It has five porticos, and in these a large number of invalids used to lie, people who were blind, lame, and paralyzed, waiting for the movement of the water. For occasionally an angel of the Lord would come down into the pool and stir up the water. The first one into the pool after each such disturbance would be cured of whatever disease he had.

A man who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and was aware that he had been ill for a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to get well?” The invalid answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up. While I am still on my way, someone else steps into the pool ahead of me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise! Take up your mat and walk!” Immediately, the man was cured, and he took up his mat and began to walk.

Now that day was a Sabbath. Therefore, the Jews said to the man who had been cured, “Today is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to carry your mat.” He replied, “The man who cured me said to me, ‘Take up your mat and walk!’ ” They asked him, “Who is the man who told you to take it up and walk?” But the man who had been cured did not know who it was, for Jesus had disappeared into the crowd that was there.

Later, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.” The man went away and told the Jews that Jesus was the man who had made him well. Therefore, the Jews began to harass Jesus because he was doing such things on the Sabbath.
