Patriarchy and Masculinity: Here's What You Need to Know | Michael Foster (THINKPOD)

Listen Later

Are men pointless? Can men get pregnant? Is there any actual difference between men and women? Who gets to ask these questions? And who, if anyone, has the answers? These are questions our fellow partakers of Western Civilization are asking, and followers of Jesus need to be able to answer them.

It’s time we had a conversation about what the Bible says makes a man a man—and why that is a good thing. Are you ready for a definition of manhood grounded in something more substantial and solid than mere emotions or societal preferences? How about God’s word and sound, biblical doctrine? As it turns out, Scripture does have quite a lot to say about manliness and masculinity. While it might ruffle some cultural feathers, it’s absolutely necessary to understand the biblical teaching on these subjects, if we want to progress into the future with sanity and clarity ourselves, and to inculcate truth in our children—both our sons and our daughters.

This episode of the Think Podcast has the potential to be a game changer for how you think and talk about masculinity, manliness and even the idea of patriarchy.

Specifically, you’ll find out…

  • Michael Foster's Backstory
  • Theological definitions of masculinity, manliness and patriarchy.
  • The difference between biblical patriarchy and evil patriarchy.
  • Whether the Western world is facing a masculinity crisis.
  • What Michael Foster really thinks about egalitarianism.
  • Much, much more
  • Joel’s guest is Michael Foster. Michael is the Managing Director of It’s Good To Be A Man.  He is a serial-entrepreneur who has been in bi-vocational ministry the better part of his adult life.
