Think Outside the Box. Are You Trapped in PCB?
- The #1 thing keeping you trapped inside the box is likely your conformation bias. P.C.B. or Paradigm Conformation Bias is the silent trapper. If you want to think outside the box you must first be able to identify what the BOX even is. While this box has many walls, one of the most notable is ones is what I like to call P.C.B.
The term Conformation Bias is a relatively well known term in some circles but I feel like adding 'paradigm' to the term gives its descriptive qualities some more specificity. Think about it, if you are thinking inside the box, meaning you are thinking within a specific framework that you are calling "reality", unless you are willing to question the basic assumptions that are given in your perspective paradigm, than how can you ever think outside the box of your perception? This reminds me of Platos allegory of the cave, where the prisoners are not even capable of conceiving of a more complex explanation for the shadows on the wall, because they had an unquestionable bias that reinforced a more simple paradigm.
They had a P.C.B. which acted as a kind of reinforcing psychological barrier keeping them from thinking outside the box. This problem is something that is deeply disrupting our ability to increase our awareness (video on increasing your awareness) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjgIr... The more I communicate with people the more I see the blocks in our psychology and language, over the last year during my travels I decided I needed to start using clearer terminology to describe what I observe.
In this vid I explain in more detail how/why we develop P.C.B. and how this keeps us from thinking outside the box as well as give you some tips about how to successfully think outside the box. Paradigm conformation Bias is a useful term that brings us terminology to enable greater depth of honest inquiry.
