A 19-inch “deluxe” portable TV ad drops us into a different era, and then we snap right back to the present with a Monday check-in from Northern California and a full-speed ride through whatever the day is serving up. We keep it loose, opinionated, and honest, the way talk radio is supposed to feel when you’re starting the week and want something that moves.
First up is an NFL Week 1 recap with real fan energy: the weird results, the early storylines, and the teams already making people sweat. We hit the Rams, Seahawks, Cardinals, Chargers, Vikings, Cowboys, Giants, Browns, Bills and more, with a special dose of disbelief aimed at Cleveland and the Deshaun Watson gamble. If you’ve been searching for a 2026 NFL Week 1 reaction that sounds like the barstool conversation you actually want, you’ll know the vibe immediately.
Then the mood turns sharper with a reaction to the Yankees vs Mets moment on the 9/11 anniversary when a fan runs onto the field with a Palestinian flag, and the stadium response becomes the story. From there, “Random Monday” kicks in: a viral Starbucks pumpkin spice clip framed around identity and stereotypes, followed by a wild montage of public access TV call-ins that reminds you how unfiltered live television used to be. We land the plane with something simple and satisfying: a rare 45 from the shelf and The Hollies’ “On a Carousel.”
If you like smart sports talk, culture commentary, and audio clips that make you say “no way that happened,” subscribe, share the episode, and leave a review so more people can find the show.
Kickoff day always makes people ask me the same thing, and I get it: how does a guy from Sacramento become a Los Angeles Rams fan for life while living in the heart of 49ers country? The answer is not a hot take or a bandwagon story. It’s a specific memory, a living room, a forbidden nap, and one helmet logo that grabbed me before I even understood football.
I take you back to the Rams of the 1960s, the Fearsome Foursome aura, and the instant pull of Roman Gabriel and that unmistakable horn. From there, the story turns into what real NFL fandom looks like over decades: knowing the deep roster names, meeting heroes like Jack Snow, and carrying those friendships and memories forward long after the moment passes.
Then we hit the grind years and the glory years. I talk about chasing Rams games before streaming made it easy, the weird joy of early bar mornings with other fans, and the franchise DNA that keeps trying new things. We also relive one of my favorite “how is this real?” football moments: hearing a game come alive on a crackly AM dial during a rainy 1977 move, and later spotting a Rams sticker on a Euro League quarterback who turns out to be Kurt Warner, the spark that leads to the Greatest Show on Turf and a Super Bowl run.
If you’ve ever loved a team for reasons you can’t fully explain, you’ll get this one. Subscribe, share it with a friend who bleeds their colors, and leave a review with the moment that made you a fan.
