Jesus is not only the risen & reigning King over all peoples everywhere, but also over all who reign over all peoples everywhere. He is the King of kings, the Governor of governors, the Lord of lords. At long last, Paul gets his first opportunity to carry the name of Jesus before a 'king', governor Felix through his trial. This text calls us to expect slander, cheerfully respond, and patiently bear witness to our Risen Savior.
