Currently there are 61,000 homes across the Western Power network without power.

Paul Entwistle, Spokesperson for Western Power says that "the whole focus at the moment is on hazard mitigation and control” and that people could be without power for some time as they wait for the storm to abate so they can safely get their crews out.
