Faith does not always come easily...the challenges of life can cause doubt and leave us wondering "why" - the sermon today focuses on the "And yet..." that Martha says as she responds to Jesus, after her brother has died.

Week 2 of COVID closures - our worship mark our celebration of life and the grace and love of God.

Week one of COVID 19 restrictions, an odd time for everyone, but we offer our worship online and connect as much as we are able.

Resetting our devices is a common practice and often the first step in troubleshooting.  We too, need to reset.  We do this in small ways as we rest each day, and hopeful develop practices of it in a weekly sabbath rest.  Lent is also a time when we look to reset our disciplines and reframe our practices toward God.

Fr. Paul speaks to the connection between power/authority and sin/temptation, encouraging us to use the 40 days of Lent to prepare and equip ourselves as Jesus used the time in the wilderness.

This sermon reflects on the significance of Ash Wednesday, our own experiences of facing mortality and what we are called to consider throughout the season of Lent.

Fr. Ernie likens the Transfiguration to a pep talk, sharing a few examples, he then offered a bit of a pep talk about preparing for the season of Lent.

The Kingdom of God is at hand, we may not always recognize it....honoring/obeying the commandments helps us to see the kingdom more clearly and places us in union with God and one another.  May we seek to understand the commandments and be guided by Christ in our responding to them.

The Gospel for today is a portion of Matthew where Jesus declares people to be the salt and light of the world.  This is combined with clarification that the law is not abolished, but made complete in Christ.
