Prayer for the Journey: God, we have forgotten what you told us. You told us to love you and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Perhaps we don’t love ourselves enough because we don’t love you enough. Perhaps we don’t believe it is possible to love our neighbor. Perhaps we just don’t trust you enough to do what you ask. Whatever our issues God, please have mercy on our souls. Please don’t give up on us, even when we give up on ourselves and each other. Please help us to do the one thing you asked us to do, LOVE. Prayer for the Journey: God, we humans are in a habit of trying to hide from you. This is especially the case when we make mistakes. We have been doing it since the days in the Garden. Please help us to remember that nothing is hidden from you and yet you still love us. You know what we are going to say, even the stuff we shouldn’t say, yet you still love us. Help us to rest in the knowledge that no matter what, you still see us as the apples of your eye. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
