Covert: Not openly acknowledged or displayed. Veiled, secret or hidden.

Military operations are conducted either out in the open, with part of the aim being a display of capability, or are conducted in darkness and secrecy, aiming to keep the enemy unaware or unsure of what has been done. 

Your team have all conducted both overt and covert operations during their time in uniform, and are all familiar with techniques and methods for success with both styles.

During this conversation, they aim to bring this concept of open vs hidden operations into the personal domain. What should be conducted in public view, compared to what should remain private? We live in a different world now, with 24/7 social media and an increasingly common cultural preference for transmitting our lives overtly.

When was the last time you reviewed your social media settings? When was the last time you thought about your overall social media profile and behaviour? How much of your life is on full display? Would a quick search by a potential future employer be improve your career prospects?

Alternately, what is the optimum level of transparency inside your family and personal relationships? Should we utilise the same level of secrecy or openness?
