This week, the trio returns to one of their favorite books, Tender Warrior. A book written by Stu Weber, former Green Beret, Vietnam Veteran, and Pastor. We focus on Chapter 4 and it’s topic of “Staying Power.”
In today’s society, it is very easy to run away from that in which we fear or that causes us pain or hardship. The “comforts” of western civilization such as fast food, dating apps, global communication at the touch of a finger, or even perceived entitlements can convince you quickly that trying is not worth the energy. That something better can be right around the corner and you don’t have to grind it out.
A real man brings certainty to his world by the power of promise. If we promise others, it should mean we are in it 100% with them. Whether it’s relationships, teammates, or your work colleagues, people are trusting in YOU and you are trusting in THEM. This is essential in building a sustainable future.
However, there are limitations and situations in which we are warranted to step away. Abusive relationships (mental, physical, emotional) unhealthy actions, when an agreement is broken, or when one side does not uphold their promise to you. It is OK to step away and take care of yourself.
-How can staying power be defined in your life?
-What or who do you struggle staying with?
-Does it benefit you to stay or go in the long run? What is your reasoning?
Goals for 2023:
-100 Ratings on Apple Podcasts
-50 Written reviews on Apple Podcasts
-500 followers on FB, IG, and YouTube!
