Hello from the library again. It's been a couple of months but we hope that everyone has had a great start to the year 2011 and it's hard to believe that we're already in our 2nd semester. Things have really been picking up in the library. We've been very busy. Our kindergarteners are now using non fiction books and learning more about them so you probably noticed more non fiction books coming home. First grade has been working on how the libraries organize and they're getting ready to learn how to use the online catalog to locate books. In 2nd grade we've been exploring the non fiction section using the Dewey Decimal System. We have new directories that the kids can use and we've done a couple of scavenger hunt with those. In 3rd grade we've been learning about a reference sources. We've reviewed all of the print reference sources and have now moved on to some online and electronic reference sources that are available to them so you'll have to ask them about discus(?) and what's available
