PBE Podcast

Volunteer people, get to know everyone you can in the Geoscience industry! We're a small family across the globe, let's be proud of our accomplishments and build for the strongest future possible.

For all great industries, eventually a universal truth will surface. For the oil and gas industry, that truth is the fact that investing into your local societies will always reward you. Tad Smith is one of the pioneers for the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and Olga is a powerhouse of the Permian Basin Geophysical Society and leader in the SEG... This show was great to see and hear from the folks investing their "extra" time into the societies and talking about how great the return is on that investment.

Dr. Jerry Meyer, Geomechanics

Dr. Alexander Edwards, Geopressure

Dr. Jeremy Gallop, Geophysicist

If you have these 3 guys helping you with figuring out what your data is telling you, you have set yourself up for a good chance!! These PhD’s take us to school on this one. We have to integrate the science in order to control savings while drilling and adding value to the whole project by getting the production levels to the highest. There are so many aspects of the business, getting the most value out of your dollars put into a project starts with good science and engineering. GREAT SHOW!!

We talk about the evolution of professionals with software, which is a cool show and good content for sure. The point in this show was made by Troy, can software be the tool used to transfer knowledge? Can we design software to capture the process of the user better, which could be the best training possible for the young professionals. Software that notes the movements of the user, finds patterns in the process and help eliminate rookie mistakes. These two were non-stop knowledge giving guests, awesome show!

Pagel joins us on the set at SEG 2019, he brings amazing wisdom and the personality of a president! His unique experience in the unconventional oil and gas industry is something we believe needed to be shared and that it will elevate any young professional in the industry right now. An extremely talented geophysicist working on saving the world.

Our first social distancing podcast is in the books and we couldn’t have

shared the stage with a better team! ErdosMiller is one of the best in the

game when it comes to MWD/LWD technology for drilling wells! The technology

described in this show by our new friends Ken Miller and Zack Gaston is

fascinating, super educational and insightful. Ken himself is someone that

immediately stands out as he has an intuitive quality in leadership and a

unique ability to share a vision, as well as knowing the tools needed to

make it happen!! We’re huge fans of ErdosMIller, wishing you all the best

in these wild times, and encouraging the world to root you all on as well.

With over 24 years experience in drilling oil and gas wells, we learned a lot about drilling! However, there is also a lot more we can learn from this show. The example of the type of work ethic it takes to make a good living and contribute to society. We're about giving more than you take, PapaJoe is a role model in the concept that contributes to your long-term happiness.

get out there and contribute friends -

The completion of this show is for the courageous, the physically and mentally strong! No time for the word "can't", no excuses. This show represents the foundation of the work ethic we all need to get through these times.

We have so much safety precaution and procedures in place we can't even get our work done! Think about it. The same safety and work ethic that the PapaJoe's generation had intuitively, our generation needs a manual for... We're ready for the grind, we love the pain! It's part of the journey, it's part of the game. If war was the topic, we're on PapaJoe's team hahaha!

Amazing man that earned experience and the wisdom that comes with it.

PapaJoe rolled in the studio and just like he rolls onto the rig floor come

drilling time, his presence demands your attention. He has it in his blood

to be a driller, he knows the ins and outs of it all

Sometimes you get the opportunity to sit down with a world renowned expert and pick their brains, this episode geomechanics is the topic and Dr. Wilson was superb!! A show that we’ll never forget and just something really special. His experience has lead him to better understand the importance of being cross disciplinary in your profession above anything else. SPOT ON~~

Simon walks us through some of the applications of QI and mapping it in Ikon Science software. The challenges of the data and the reality of what we do with it. We’re not necessarily drilling the best rock, but it’s more about not drilling the bad rock. We talk about drilling, completing and geology on this one, it was a good time!
