PCOS is a common disease that is still not fully understood, it is likely a combination of genetic and environmental factors. In this episode, I'm joined by Chi Chi where we discuss the types of PCOS and how epigenetics can play a role. Chi Chi also talks about her personal experience with PCOS.
Chinonye « Chi Chi » Egbulem is a Public Health Social Worker and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Strategist. A firm believer that everyone should be equipped with the knowledge and resources to live a healthy life- Chi-Chi enjoys engaging community, political representatives, and organizations in conversations about health equity, birth equity, historical trauma perpetuated by racism and neocolonialism, and affirming the realities and experiences of non-white communities when engaging with the U.S. healthcare system and the international aid & development sector. When she is not addressing “wicked problems” in the public health field, Chi Chi works as a doula and provides birthing services for pregnant and postpartum people in Uganda and in the US. In 2019, she launched Sproutly Consulting- a women-led international development consultancy that partners with global organizations around the world to unlock their potential by navigating the challenges connected to equity, bias, diversity, inclusion, anti-oppression, and anti-racism. Connect with her via LinkedIn & follow her across all social media platforms @afropreneurchi.
