Listen to Hannah Thompson and I talking about her business networking groups around the UK!
Today I was delighted to welcome Olly Clarke who has a growing personalised puzzle business. Listen to why Olly started his business and what he has on offer now he's helping people with a great new business! You can visit his page here.
Today I'm talking about a new community video project I'm leading for our community during the lockdown period. It's great to be able to bring people together during this time and produce this for the people of our Borough and I can't wait to launch it next week (I hope!).
I've also had a busy few days with the FSB Leicester meeting today, more webinars with the Festival of Enterprise and with the wonderful Fin up in Scotland for the Enterprise Nation meet up.
I don't know about you, but I'm enjoying my time at the moment, it's been adventurous!
Do you network face to face ? Are you thinking about how you are in the networking environment on line ? Are networking at all ?
Have a listen to my networking tips for engaging on line.
Who am I to tell you what to do I hear you ask ?
Well, for a start, I have a lot of experience in business networking having networked since 2008, formed networks, led our Borough's business network (www.ketteringbusinessnetwork.co.uk) to National Awards Finals in 2019, trained people how to network and networked on a national level. Actually thinking about it, I've also networked on a European level - how could I forget this!
I thought for my second podcast, I would share some ideas and tips for you when you are networking on line and I sincerely hope these have been of benefit to you.
If, of course, you would like to have a chat with me directly, then please do get in touch. I'm on Linked In and I'm on Twitter and I'm always open to a conversation somewhere along the line!
Hi, I'm Simon Cox and I'm the Marketing Manager for a company called Poppy Design Studio based in Northamptonshire in the UK. We have over 17 years of WordPress experience in the business and my role is to help market the business. I've also run small businesses in the past and represent our local business community on a national level with advisers into the Government as well as leading our local business network.
I have also started a new adventure into radio broadcasting in late 2019 and I'm a presenter on Kettering's community radio station, Shire Sounds Radio.
My podcast channel is all about sharing knowledge, skills and information for you to learn more about your business. We, at Poppy Design Studio, are passionate about helping clients where we can and also those who aren't a client as we all need a little help now and then.
How did I get into podcasting ?
So with my new found enthusiasm for radio broadcasting, I decided to venture into podcasting as I've been unable to present my own radio show recently due to the outbreak of the pandemic known as coronavirus. I've missed being in the studio and broadcasting across the airwaves, so what better way than to start podcasting and I'm looking forward to the journey ahead.
I saw on the Festival of Enterprise website that there was a webinar a few days ago featuring Lord Karan Billamoria, the Chairman of Cobra Beer, and I decided to attend to learn more about his product and what challenges businesses were facing during the coronavirus lockdown. I was impressed by how the interview was constructed and got to listen to the host Alex Chisnall. Today, I listened to Alex again as he hosted a webinar on Podcasting and I thought, what the hell, I've had a dabble before, now is the time to get serious and here I am!
Alex runs a Facebook group called Podpreneur and I would recommend joining the group if you have ideas on what to do with podcasting or want to learn more. You can also connect with him via these methods:
