The world always puts forward its politicians, leaders, and heroes. We are urged to follow them.  But we choose to follow Jesus. The gospel of Luke shows us how to walk in: “The Footsteps of Jesus”

CONCLUSION

When God is about to do something fantastic, He sends forth an announcement. The birth of Jesus was announced by Gabriel.

CONCLUSION

Is our faithfulness to God so strong that it is lion proof?  Dare to be a Daniel, dare to stand alone, dare to have a purpose firm, dare to make it known.

A new king is in town. Belshazzar has a feast. In the midst of this unrestrained party, handwriting appears on the wall. Daniel is called in to interpret what is written. His life of influence is clearly seen.

CONCLUSION

Belshazzar’s feast was dominated by blindness, booze, blasphemy, and blatant idolatry. Yet the handwriting was on the wall. One day the world’s party will be over. Are we living a life of influence?

In Daniel 4 King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream. The powerful king will be cut down until he realizes who is the Sovereign Lord of all. Living for God in Babylon will require us to live a life of humility.

CONCLUSION

Pride like a giant tree often takes root and grows in our heart. God is able to cut us down as He did to Nebuchadnezzar. May we freely humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God.

CONCLUSION - Just as Daniel spoke the truth of God into His world, you and I have the same commission. May God help us to continue to look for ways to be truth-proclaimers.

Daniel and his friends find themselves in a perilous situation. The king had a dream and demands its recall and interpretation. They are about to lose their lives. What does Daniel do? He prays.

Daniel could not talk his way out of his crisis. Only God could help him. Living in Babylon requires us to live a life of prayer.
