Danielle Slupesky spent years working as an ER and trauma nurse, but a medical crisis put her on the other side of emergency care. During surgery, Danielle had a near-death experience that changed the way she sees death and the way she lives.

Merci Santos was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in her 20s. As the disease progressed, she lost her eyesight at times, struggled to speak and use her arms, and found herself in and out of a wheelchair. Doctors told her it would only get worse.
