On All Saints' Sunday, we think about all those faithful followers who have gone before us in the faith. As we look in the mirror and think about our lives, ourselves, our history, even our failures... God looks at us in the mirror and sees His Son, and because of that, He sees us as saints, even on earth, by grace through faith.

It has been over 500 years since the work of Martin Luther started what we know as the Reformation. A Reformation that is all about bringing God's people back to the heart of His Word: the life-changing, life-saving Good News of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection for our forgiveness and salvation. A work that is started by God and completed by Him on our behalf, without us doing anything to deserve it or earn it.

We give thanks to God for the 50 years of Peace Lutheran Church as a congregation of Lutheran Church-Canada. And we give thanks for God's love, grace, forgiveness, and death and resurrection for our salvation that has been the cornerstone of our faith.

In this third week of our 3-week series on Stewardship, we not only talk about the giving of our time, talents, and treasures, but we focus on the fourth part of stewardship: testimony. Not only are we managers to all that God has given to us, we are also witnesses to all that God has done in our life, and we can share that Good News with the world.

In this first week of our 3-week series on Stewardship, we look at the difference between who we are as managers of God's creation, and who God is as the creator of all things. Do we love and serve God above all other things, or do we have other masters that we love more, and how does that play out with our time, talents, and treasures?

Here is what those in attendance at the National Youth Gathering have to share about what it means to live IN the world, but not OF the world.

What are you willing to do for that which you most treasure? And what it is exactly that you most treasure? As we consider our own willingness to the sacrifices we might make for that which we most treasure or love, we see Jesus who was willing to give everything for that which He most treasures and loves.

In the parable of the lost sheep, the shepherd will leave 99 sheep to go and find the 1 lost sheep. At some point in our lives, we're all like that sheep. We're all a little lost. We wander, we stray, we get lost, and sometimes we even want to stay lost, And that's why we need the Good Shepherd to find us, carry us on His shoulders, and bring us back home because we can't do it on our own. We can't find our way home, and we certainly can save ourselves from our lostness.

If you could choose between life or death, living a long life or no longer having a life, what would you choose? May seem like an easy answer, but it's not. That's because there's only one answer that we will choose in our sinful condition. And that's why we need God to come and choose the better/best option for us, on our behalf, and by choosing the best option for us, He also chooses the other option for Himself.
