Who we say we are, and who God says we are can sometimes bring very different answers. As we read Paul's second letter to the Corinthians, we find that "if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come." By faith, because of Christ's death and resurrection, we are in Christ and are new creations.

One of the hardest things for us to do is to explain how the Trinity works, how God is 3 distinct persons yet 1 God. So rather than try and explain how the Trinity works, on this Trinity Sunday, we'll take a look at the works of the Trinity. The works that each person of the Trinity is responsible for and what they mean for us today.

Jesus promises to not leave His disciples alone, and sends them a Helper, the Holy Spirit who helps, advocates, counsels, comforts, teaches, convicts, reminds and gives Himself to all who believe.

In John 17 we see the High Priestly Prayer of Jesus, where He prays for His disciples and their future, whom He will be leaving soon as He goes on the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension. Then He prays for those who will believe in Him, the future people who will hear the message of the disciples and believe. That's you and me, as the word of God has been proclaimed for centuries! As we think about our future, looking at Jesus praying for the disciples' future and ours, we see God not only prays for His people, but He does everything possible to give them eternal life.

In a day and age when everyone is feeling a bit overwhelmed by what is happening in the world, God reminds us that we are overcomers through Jesus Christ.

As we continue through this pandemic, we think about the connections we have with family and friends and whether those have been impacted positively or negatively. As we hear the Gospel tell us that Christ is the vine and we are the branches, we think about the connection that we have with Him and with His Church and whether or not it has been impacted positively or negatively. Are we branches bearing fruit, or dead sticks?

As the body needs good nutrition so does the soul. Peter teaches us 5 things that make us and our world unhealthy and ONE that will make us healthy living in a sick world.

Many people say that they believe in Jesus, but what Jesus do they actually believe in? Do they believe in Jesus being true and and true God? Or do they believe that Jesus was just a good teacher or prophet? Those are two very different things. As we read through the Gospels we'll find out not only what it means to believe IN Jesus but also to believe HIM.
