In this first week of Advent, we focus on Hope. In the context of Hope, we will also look at commitment, and covenant, and promise and see how they have been realized for us in Christ, and how they are connected to other relationships.

God give us prophecies concerning the last times not to scare us but to warn us that there will be things that come that will challenge our faith. There will be a rebellion against God’s law. God has given us the truth so we can stand firm and faithful.

It really matters what you believe, what you put your faith in. The Bible articulates very clearly who Jesus is and what He has done. Thank You God for the words. Yet, we also thank God for the person of Jesus Christ, Himself.

We keep our heads up, eyes focused on the cross, and in this we can see the redemption Christ won for us.

As Martin Luther did 500 years ago, we stand on the Word of God that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, because of Christ alone.

All Saints' Day reminds us of those who have gone before us in the faith. All Saints' Day also reminds us that we who believe in Christ are also counted as saints.

Jesus teaches us not to give up when we pray, but be persistent and patient. God talks to us in His Word. We talk to God in prayer. Let’s review a little bit about what our conversation with our Heavenly Father looks like and does.
