Every father who has found his way to this podcast should listen to this message first.
In this introductory podcast I explain the foundations of how I was led by God to begin this podcast ministry.
Biographical Information – Pastor Randy Cook
I was born in 1954 in Phenix City, Alabama and saved when I was 18 years old through Tom Tarvin sharing the gospel with me. He continued to teach and disciple me for two years -- to grow in my relationship and fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ and to know God, love God and worship God.
I attended Columbia Bible College 1974 -1976. I attended Philadelphia Bible College (from 1976-1979) and graduated in 1979.
I attended Biblical Theological Seminary in Hatfield PA for two years before God called me to pastor the Greenwich Baptist Church.
My wife (Vicki) and I met at Columbia Bible College and were married in Bridgeton NJ in 1976. She was born and raised in NJ.
God blessed us with ten children and 19 grandchildren (as of June 26, 2020) and there is one other grandchild on the way.
I have been in pastoral ministry for 44 years in 4 different churches.
# 1 Pearl Street Baptist Church in Bridgeton NJ (Associate Pastor 1976 - 1979)
# 2 Calvary Baptist in Bethlehem PA (Associate Pastor 1979-1981)
# 3 Greenwich Baptist in Greenwich NJ (Senior Pastor 1981 - 1996)
# 4 Greenville Christian Fellowship in Greenville S.C. (where I presently have served since 1999).
Vicki and I were able by God's grace to home-school all ten of our children (6 sons and 4 daughters).
When I was pastor of Greenwich Baptist Church we also had a home school ministry in South Jersey
that provided a support group for other home-school moms and dads.
I am so thankful to God for all the believers he has brought into our lives (as a family) over the years. They have come alongside of our family and have had a strong spiritual impact upon us to spur us on to become more like our Lord Jesus Christ. I am also thankful for all the families God has joined us to through the marriage of our sons and daughters. Together we all have one single purpose -- to know Christ and make Him known.
I mentioned in this foundational podcast the critical importance of God's mercy in our lives. None of us have a success story to tell. We all as believers have a mercy and grace story to tell. How faithful God has been in our lives based on His mercy and grace.
His goodness and mercy must follow us all the days of our lives.
